Is storage actually needed
A storage bench offers a second use beneath its seat. Start by deciding what belongs inside: spare throws, seasonal textiles and everyday items require different access. Ask for the usable internal dimensions and lid opening rather than estimating capacity from the outside measurements of the piece.
Allowing for the lid
Check the opening space in relation to the bed and wall. If the top becomes a permanent display surface, access to the compartment may be inconvenient. Test the layout by clearing the seat and opening the lid, and confirm the mechanism and operating instructions for the particular product.
Finding its bedroom proportion
When choosing a bench with Aslan Atelier, discuss circulation as well as bed width. The space at either end influences whether the piece looks comfortably placed or squeezed in. Storage adds value when the bench remains proportionate to a bedroom that can still be used easily every day.
