Separating upholstery and frame
A leather seat on slender timber legs balances solid and open areas. Examine the leather colour and frame tone separately before judging the whole bench. Closely related colours can make the piece appear more unified, while a stronger difference can emphasise the outline of the supporting frame.
Testing brief everyday use
Try the bench through the movements it will support at the bed end or dressing area. Foot placement while putting on shoes, standing up and the feel of the seat all matter. A visually light piece is not necessarily easy to lift, so check its actual weight separately.
Considering the surrounding space
