An end-of-bed bench provides a useful surface for dressing or a short rest. The open base of the upholstered bench shown keeps the floor visible beneath it.
Considering the arrangement
Consider the passage at the foot of the bed and the route to wardrobes as carefully as the relationship between bench and bed width.
In everyday use
Preserve its seating function rather than letting the bench become permanent storage. Bedding should not pile onto it, and nearby drawers must still open comfortably. In a small bedroom, retaining a clear passage may be more useful than adding a bench. Let actual use determine how many pieces belong in the room.
