Profile as well as front
A lounge chair’s side view can matter as much as its front in an open arrangement. The angled back, arm line and timber supports together create a profile. Consider what someone walking past will see instead of relying entirely on a photograph taken straight towards the seat.
Marking the approach views
Mark the entrance, the route towards the window and the approach to the seating area on the plan. The same chair may look lighter or fuller from different angles. This exercise is useful when the piece will stand away from the wall and its side and back remain visible.
Completing the outline through use
Review profile photographs alongside a measured plan when developing an architectural furniture selection with Aslan Atelier. A compelling side outline does not replace a sitting trial. Trying the arm height and back support with the intended user explains how the visually selected piece will take part in daily life.
