A frame around the upholstery
Slender timber arms create a clear yet restrained frame around an upholstered seat. Cushion volume alone does not explain the chair’s character. The point where each arm meets the back and the way it extends forwards can change how the entire piece is perceived from the surrounding room.
The place the hand meets
Visual slimness and the feeling beneath the hand are different questions. Try where the hand naturally rests and where support is taken when standing up. Rounded and flatter sections can feel different, so compare the actual product where possible rather than deciding from the outline in a photograph.
Relating it to nearby timber
Consider the arm tone alongside side tables and other timber pieces in an Aslan Atelier selection. Exact colour matching is not always necessary; the differences should feel deliberate. Include an upholstery sample in that comparison so the compact chair contributes to the room’s broader material balance.
