Reading a module on its own
An armless modular seat reads differently in the middle of a sofa and as an individual piece. Its open side can create a more fluid arrangement. Whether a particular module is suitable for independent use cannot be established from appearance alone: confirm its connections, finished sides and intended configuration.
Planning the connections
If several modules are planned, do more than add up their widths. Check the permitted connection directions, the line left between seats and the position of joining points. Where future rearrangement is intended, drawing each possible layout helps establish a more useful list of components to order.
Using the open edge
