Looking through the frame

An open timber frame changes the visual weight of a stone-topped table. Seeing the floor through the supports can make a restrained dining area feel more open. That appearance does not establish the product’s actual weight: materials, handling requirements and delivery arrangements still need to be checked separately.

Meeting the lower rail

A rail near the floor may cross the place where someone naturally rests their feet. Do more than push a chair against the edge: try sitting down, standing up and changing position. Including users of different heights makes the review more useful than judging the frame from its open appearance alone.

Preserving the open view

Crowding the surrounding floor with small pieces can weaken the effect of an open frame. In an Aslan Atelier selection, consider simple chair outlines and a clear view of the floor. For a Kalkan villa, settle the layout through real seating trials and circulation checks as well as the desired visual balance.
