Reading the structure

Angled timber supports create a clear rhythm beneath a table. Look beyond the colour of the top and consider how that geometry meets the doors, windows and cabinets around it. A quiet background gives a strongly shaped base enough room to be understood without competing with every other object.

Checking the seat positions

Try the chair positions beside each angled support. Space for a seated person’s feet and space to pull a chair towards the table are separate questions. A simple floor outline or temporary mock-up can reveal an awkward meeting that a photograph of the table alone will not show.

Keeping the surroundings calm

Include the base shape as a separate item in an Aslan Atelier selection brief. In a Kalkan or Kaş dining space, straightforward chairs can balance a more expressive timber structure. Let actual room measurements and everyday movement decide the final arrangement rather than treating the sculptural base as a decoration alone.
